Born in London and raised in Southern California, Lauren Rothery developed an interest in the arts at a young age. She trained classically in ballet and as a painter growing up. She attended Otis College of Art and Design, and later the London College of Fashion to study costume design. She worked as a costume assistant for several years in New York, before trying her hand at writing and directing her own projects. Since then, Lauren has directed music videos for Royksopp's "Running to the Sea" (Garnering over 5 million plays) and Jason Nolan's "Opals and Banonos", as well as a long format music video for Dne's first Album "These Semi Feelings Are Everywhere". She has been featured on Indiewire, MONSTER CHILDREN, and Nowness. She wrote and directed her first short film, “Shelly” in 2016 which screened at the No Budge festival in Brooklyn, and at the LUSH festival in London. She completed a feature length screenplay based on the short in 2017. Lauren currently resides in Los Angeles, CA. She is represented by Ari Lubet at 3 Arts Entertainment.
